Three Years On Still Funds Synagogue Protection
In the years since, we have seen a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK.

Three years on from a massacre, you name the next step. You do not point at a guard already on the books. A shop that reprints last year's lock as today's lock is still selling last year's lock. An anniversary can mourn. It can also name a new tool. This one names a rise, then points at funding already under way.
The Prime Minister said this on 7 October 2026. The GOV.UK page is his statement three years on from the October 7th attacks. It remembers those killed by Hamas. Then comes the UK line: a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour. In the years since. It reads like a new turn at home.
It is not. The same note, from the Prime Minister's Office and published that day, says that is why we are funding protection for synagogues, schools and community buildings. Funding is now. It names no new pound figure. It names no start date. It names no extra officers. Three years on, the named home policy is still money for the door.
He also says abuse and violence will not be tolerated. Not on our streets, not online, not in our schools or universities. Then: we will come down hard in classrooms, on campuses and in neighbourhoods. Those are places. They are not a new Act, a new squad, or a new sum. The "that's why" still lands on funding protection.
The Jewish Chronicle, published at 00:01 on 7 October 2026, repeats the rise and the stand-with-you line. It names the attack a year ago at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester. Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, drove into the gates. Melvin Cravitz, 66, died from stab wounds. Adrian Daulby, 53, died from a police bullet as he blocked the doors. The JC page adds no new protection fund. It reports the anniversary words.
A year after Heaton Park, the statement still points at funding already under way. "We stand with you" is a greeting. "We are funding protection" is a ledger with no new line. The October 7 note also says Britain will work towards a two-state solution abroad. That is a foreign line. At home, the tool is the same one: money for buildings.
Look at the two clocks. One is 7 October 2023, then Heaton Park a year ago, then 7 October 2026. The other is the policy clock, which still says funding protection. Three years of a rise, and the page still funds the door.
The pattern is an anniversary rise sold with last year's guard.
